About

About House of Dapper Dogs

House of Dapper Dogs provides one-on-one grooming and spa treatments from a private, secure salon set in the countryside in Durley. The salon is designed to offer a calm, quiet atmosphere that helps reduce anxiety and keeps dogs feeling comfortable throughout their appointment.

Services range from full styling sessions and hydrospa baths to ultrasonic teeth cleaning and nail trimming. For younger dogs, our Puppy University programme introduces puppies from 12 weeks of age to grooming over gradual, gentle sessions.

We incorporate play time, interactive puzzle toys, and cuddles into visits, helping dogs build trust and view the salon as an enjoyable place to spend time.

Why them

What makes us different

It's not just about making dog's look good - it's about creating an experience. I've built House of Dapper Dogs from the ground up with a real focus on quality, care and attention to detail. From the moment you and your dog/s walk through the door, I want them to feel welcomed, comfortable, safe and genuinely cared for.

I pride myself on creating a calm, personal and luxurious grooming experience, while taking the time to understand each dog as an individual.

It's the little details that make the biggest difference.

Meet Gemma

Gemma, dog groomer

Hello, I’m Gem, founder and groomer at House of Dapper Dogs, a luxury dog grooming salon located in the heart of the countryside in Durley.

I’ve always loved animals, and today I share my life with my four dogs — Elsie, Eddie, Doug and Darcy — and my son Louie. I began my professional dog grooming journey in 2018, gaining experience in a local salon before opening House of Dapper Dogs in September 2019.

I specialise in one-on-one luxury dog grooming, offering beautifully finished pet trims and relaxing spa treatments in a private, secure setting with ample easy parking. Every appointment is bespoke and personalised, ensuring each dog feels safe, comfortable and cared for.

I’m bubbly, happy and easy to talk to, and I pride myself on building trust with both dogs and their owners — usually with a coffee and a bar of chocolate close by.

I cannot praise Gemma highly enough for how my nervous rescue dog and I were looked after on our first visit to her for a full groom. I include myself, as she took so much time to fully understand about my dogs nerves and that keeping her anxiety low was priority over everything for me. She reassured me that she would only do what my dog was comfortable with, which was exactly what I wanted (my dog has hip dysplasia). She played with her, messaged me halfway through to tell me she was doing OK...and that she was giving her a little break. Only one dog in at a time...great for nervous dogs...and a peaceful tucked away grooming salon with parking right outside, next to stables...perfect! And someone who genuinely cares about your dog. Gemma is my best find of the year and although it was a little drive for me...I wouldn't hesitate to drive double the distance for the level of love and care my little one got. Absolutely first class! And she came out looking perfect... exactly as I'd hoped...with no skin irritation (which has happened previously elsewhere). Gemma will really listen to what you want and what's needed. Easiest recommendation ever! Thank you so much Gemma...we both normally dread grooming appointments but you really have changed the narrative.

We were recommended House of Dapper Dogs from our groomer after she unfortunately had to part ways with her business. Gem couldn't have been more accomodating to have our pooch in and gave him a right old pamper. He came out looking and smelling amazing, and I could tell he had an enjoyable time as he slept the whole journey home and once again once he was settled on the sofa. High praise and well deserved, we will be seeing Gem going forward!

We been using house of dapper dogs for many years now. As owners of rescue dogs Gemma is very fantastic at her work it built a lot of trust in the dogs due to their past. Gemma has been very patient and she so calm with them. Both me and my fiancé are very comfortable in leaving our precious fur babies with her and the dogs have just grown so much trust. They get excited when I pull in the lane. I don’t know what Gemma does but dogs seem to love her. Rescue dogs can be so temperamental however our dogs love going. We are getting a puppy and we have already booked her in. Yes I pay a lot for their pampa but house of dapper dogs is so worth it. So massive thank you Gemma. Will continue to use you for years. Ps they always smell so nice shame the smell don’t last lol. We would always recommend house of dapper dogs. Skye Shelby and Chase say a massive thank you

Gemma is fab at her job. She is kind, caring, very professional and happy to answer any questions. No idea how she gets Rosie to stay still for a groom and teeth clean! She always comes back looking silky smooth and smelling lovely! Rosie loves going to see Gemma and always gives her a big smile!

We’ve been taking our dog to see Gem since he was a puppy, so 4 & 1/2 years, and she’s been absolutely incredible with him! In particular while he was recovering from spinal surgery, Gem took great care with him, and still uses supportive harnesses when he’s having a bad day with his back. I’d be completely lost without Gem, and it’s clear how passionate she is about her job and her clients.
